HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH, PLANNING, EVALUATION STAGES?
Final Article
THIS IS THE FINAL PRODUCT FOR MY ARTICLE, I AGAIN TRIED TO KEEP WITHIN THE SAME THEME OF MY POSTER TO KEEP WITHIN THE GENRE OF MY FILM.
Planning Article - Script
This is the script for what I will be using in my film article for my short film latent love.
A new romantic comedy has just been brought to our attention called ‘Latent Love’. We caught
up with the director of the short film and asked her a few questionabout her new project...
Question: So can you tell us what your film ‘Latent Love’ is all about?
Director: Well the film is about your typical three way love trianlge
where the girl goes out with your typical ‘bad boy’ meanwhile the loyal best friend is in
love with her but she cannot see it. However, as the loyal best friend is ringing the girl and confessing his feelings, the girl is on a date with the’bad boy’. Next there is a car crash and the girl is put in a comma. She wakes up too find the loyal best friend has been there and listens
to a voicemail from him from the night of the accident. Then the ending is which boy she chooses. (You’ll have to watch to find out!)
Question: How do you advertise your short films and make them a success and do you feel pressure from Hollywood films?
Director: It is quite hard to get short films aware due to big Hollywood films, however there
are still alot of people who enjoy short films. Events such as film festivals like the New York Short
film festival help short films more aware and increase popularity of them. Film festivals also help with
advertising. Also, they not only bring awareness for short filmsthey also bring awareness too short budgeted Indie films too. Eventhough Hollywood films area big part of the film industry I do not feel
any pressure from them as they will have different audiences, therefore the audience for short films will also be different as people have different preferences.
Question: In the future do you think short films will become more popular?
Director: Well, short films are increasingly getting more popular due to the internet and social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace. These sites help increase awareness of the films as
friends find short films on Youtube when they are searching random things then send the link
to friends and then there friends pass it on etc, so I think as technology improves I think short films
will become more popular and more aware to people .
Question: Back to your film, as you said technology is improving did you use any technology in your film and was there any other focus’ when making the film?
Director: In the film there is a scene where the girl is looking at texts on her phone which represents a form of technlogy as in the past she may of been reading a letter.. Also a key point I used was time, I used time by using flash back to tell the story which makes the film more intresting and challenges the audience in some ways when watching the film!

Planning Poster - Final Product
This is my final film poster, I tried to keep within a girly/romantic theme using pinks and love hearts instead of the 'O' in love. I used italic writing due to the fact I think it is quite typical in these sort of films and keeps within the genre of our film.

Script
Scene 1- Isabelle knocks at Simon’s door, Simon answers.
Scene2- In hospital,Isabelle in bed
Doctor speaks to Isabelle ‘Isabelle , how are you feeling?’
Isabelle –‘whats happened?’
Doctor- ‘everything is ok now isabelle, you where in a accident, a car crash . Can you remember that isabelle? Can you remember anything from that night?’
Isabelle-‘ Not really but I can remember being at his house’ .
Doctor –‘you should rest isabelle, you have had a terrible past week. Although you have had a lot of company, visitors have Ben in and out. One young man named simon has been here everyday since the accident. Some of your belongings are in the draw’.
Isabelle- open draw and reaches for diary. Looks at the last diary entry from before she went to Bens. Diary entry narrated. Puts diary away and looks at phone sees missed calls and texts from the night
Scene 3
FLASHBACK- to the night of the accident
Ben- ‘have another glass of wine Izzy come on let your hair down for once’
Isabelle- ‘no honest ben ive had enough’
Both watching film ben puts his arm round isabelle, isabelle looks at clock .
Isabelle- ‘its getting late I think I should call for a taxi’
Isabelle looks at phone and ignores Simons calls
Spilt screen of Simon and isabelle.
Ben- ‘Are you kidding Isabelle its not even late! and anyway I’m driving you home’
Isabelle- ‘you have had too much to drink Ben, I’m ringing a taxi’
Ben- ‘Izzy its fine come on, ill take you now’.
Scene 4- in car
Isabelle- ‘slow down ben your going to fast. I don’t like it Ben , stop showing off’.
Ben- shut up! Turns up music loud in car
Both look at road- crash, black out sirens and beeping of life support machine
Scene 5- flashback over
back in hospital looks through phone again, listens to voice mail of simon
Looks back through diary of days she spent with simon- narrated
Isabelle realises feelings, crying
Doctor walk in curious about the crying- are you ok isabelle an I get you anything.
Isabelle- no I think I remember everything now
Doctor- well that a good thing, I think your parents are here to pick you up I think your ready to go home now.
